Therapists in Midrand
Ingrid van der Westhuizen
Ingrid van der Westhuizen graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2006. In 2007 she completed her community service year at Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital in Krugersdorp.
She started working at a Private practice in Midrand in 2008, and the following year opened her own Private Practice at Christ Church School in Midrand, where she still practices to date. Ingrid has a passion for children who are often misunderstood due to their behaviour.
She realised soon in her career that the way to really understand children is to educate oneself. She completed her Ayers Sensory Integration® qualification in 2010. She believes that she is never too old to learn and continues to further her knowledge and skill. Ingrid is a firm believer in the power of neuroplasticity and therefore offers a variety of therapy programmes including TOMATIS®, Interactive Metronome® and ReadLS™.
Sandré van Niekerk
Sandré van Niekerk graduated from University of Free State in 2014. In 2015 she completed her community service year at Potchefstroom Hospital. In 2016 she joined Ingrid van der Westhuizen in servicing the children at the practice.
She is currently completing her studies in Ayers Sensory Integration® therapy. She enjoys discovering new treatment methods and eagerly considers new research. Sandré likes to use her imagination and to create a playful environment for children to learn and achieve their full potential.
Seeing them develop and reach their potential is the best reward for what she does. Sandré believes that it is important to see the child as an individual and adapt activities according to the child’s needs. “Having to play for a living is a life worth living”!
